(Washington, DC)  The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced it will implement a series of temporary traffic and pedestrian signal outages in the area of K Street, NW, between 15th Street and 20th Street, NW, to allow for signal upgrades as part of the ADA Improvements project in this corridor.

Motorists and pedestrians should anticipate delays due to the planned outages, which will affect the area of K Street, NW, between 15th Street, NW, and 20th Street, NW, in both east bound and west bound traffic along K Street, NW, and north bound and south bound traffic along the cross streets. The outages will occur at one to two intersections at a time on Saturdays between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. The work is anticipated to start early March, 2015, weather permitting.

Follow-up traffic advisories will be distributed with updated information; these updates will contain specific dates and locations of the impacted intersections.

The Metropolitan Police Department officers and temporary signs and barricades will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public in this area.

DDOT encourages all commuters to stay alert as they travel in this corridor.

All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, utility companies, material and contract availability or other unforeseen conditions.
