Mayor Bowser to Host Public Safety Community Conversations Call

Friday, January 27, 2017

On Saturday, January 28 at 1 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will host her second Community Conversations call to hear from residents about their priorities when it comes to public safety in Washington, DC. Specifically, the Mayor wants to hear from the community about examples of the community working with the government to keep our streets safe; effective policing strategies that residents have seen or want to see more of; and qualities residents hope to see in DC’s permanent police chief.

In 2016, the District saw substantial reductions in almost all categories of crime including a 17 percent reduction in homicides and a 13 percent reduction in robberies. Since Mayor Bowser took office, total crime has declined 9 percent.
