Mayor Bowser Encourages Residents to Participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at Drop-Off Sites Across the District
(Washington, DC) – On Monday, October 28 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Department of Public Works (DPW) will kick off Back to Basics Week by highlighting the start of the 2024-2025 Leaf Collection season. Leaf collection begins on Monday, October 28 and will continue through Saturday, February 8. Officials will discuss what residents should expect throughout leaf collection, how to compost pumpkins and holiday gourds, and other efforts that DPW is taking to keep DC safe and clean throughout the fall and winter.
Leaf collection begins on Monday throughout DC in Section A. Residents can learn which section they live in and more about leaf collection at dpw.dc.gov/leaf.
