Join Mayor Bowser to kick off Immigrant Heritage Month with a community celebration on U Street. Immigrant Heritage Month is a month-long celebration highlighting the incredible contributions that immigrants have made and continue to make to our nation. The celebration features international music, performances by local artists, a photo booth and more!

Chinatown Community Festival
Come out and experience the tastes, sights, and sounds of Asian & Pacific Islander cultures at the 2019 Chinatown Community Festival! Come enjoy lively performances, cultural demonstrations, fitness demonstrations, food samples, and Asian arts and crafts.

2nd Annual African Community Soccer Game
In partnership with the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Metropolitan Police Department, the Mayor’s Office of African Affairs will be hosting its 2nd Annual Washington Community Soccer Game on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at the Columbia Heights Education Campus. We would value your presence at the event, which will convene the African community for a fun afternoon of soccer, music, food, and presentations to kick off the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

African Fashion Show and Culture Expo
As part of its Outreach and Education Program, the Mayor’s Office on African Affairs, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office on Women's Policy and Initiatives and the Mayor’s Office on African American Affairs, will host an African Fashion Show and Culture Expo on Saturday, June 29, 2019. The summer spectacle will showcase and celebrate DC African fashion, creativity, and culture.

Morning Tai Chi
The DC Mayor's Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (MOAPIA) is hosting free Tai Chi classes in Chinatown Park on Saturday mornings in June.
Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese martial art. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements and is recognized for many health and wellness benefits.
