(Washington, DC) Following are activities, which may impact drivers and pedestrians moving around the District. The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) urges those taking part in the events to be aware of upcoming road closures.
Event: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Peace Walk/Parade
Date: Monday, January 19
Time: 11:30am to 2 pm
Location: Start on St. Elizabeth Campus; Martin Luther King, Jr., Avenue SE, between Milwaukee Place and Danbury Street, SE; ending at Leckie Elementary
Street Closures/Times: rolling closures along the route
MPD will handle all closures
Event: State of the Union Address
Date: Tuesday, January 20
Time: 9 pm
DDOT assisting with FOD resources
MPD and USSS handling closures if necessary
