Statement on December 2022 Revenue Estimates

Friday, December 30, 2022

(Washington, DC) – Today, the DC Government released the revised revenue estimates for the District of Columbia Budget and Financial Plan. The forecast for local fund revenues is revised upward in FY 2022 by $172.1 million. In response to the new estimates, Mayor Bowser released the following statement:

“We end 2022 with promising indicators for our city’s comeback – revenues revised upward for FY22, GDP growth, and our population on the rise again. The District’s economy remains strong. Still, we go into 2023 cautious and aware of the many variables that can sway our economy one way or the other. Our priority remains on ensuring every Washingtonian has a fair shot and that we have the resources necessary to address our most pressing challenges, take care of our most vulnerable neighbors, deliver world-class city services, and create new opportunities for residents and businesses. And we continue to spread the word – DC is open, opportunity is available, and DC Government is still hiring.”
