Single-Lane Closures to Occur for Bridge and Tunnel Safety Inspections on the I-395 and I-695 Highways

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on I-395 and I-695 on Friday, February 13, from 10 am to 3 pm, weather permitting.
Motorists should anticipate minor delays due to the temporary closures, which are necessary to assist with routine bridge and tunnel safety inspections. The inspections are scheduled to occur on I-395 and I-695 in the vicinity of South Capitol Street in Ward 6:
- A right-lane closure of northbound South Capitol Street under I-695 and associated ramps.
- Next, a right-lane closure of southbound South Capitol Street under I-695 and associated ramps.
- This will be followed by a right-lane closure of the ramp from northbound South Capitol Street to northbound I-395
- Finally, a left-lane closure of the ramp from northbound South Capitol Street to northbound I-395.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn motorists approaching the areas. Motorists are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of inspection personnel.
