(Washington, DC) - As part of the 11^th Street Bridge Project, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the southbound lane on 8^th Street, SE, between Virginia Avenue and “Eye” Street, overnight on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 6 pm until 5 am the following morning.

The closure is needed for crews to complete roadway work at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and 8^th Street, SE. 

Signed detours will be posted during the closure:

DETOUR

• Southbound 8^th Street, SE, traffic will be detoured onto “Eye” Street, SE, then to 7^th Street, SE, to access 8^th Street, SE, via Virginia Avenue, SE.   

In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work will be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be sent.
