Overnight Closure on Southbound 8th Street, SE, Between Virginia Avenue and I Street, SE, Scheduled on January 13

(Washington, DC) - As part of the 11th Street Bridge Project, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the southbound lane on 8th Street, SE, between Virginia Avenue and “Eye” Street, overnight on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 6 pm until 5 am the following morning.

The closure is needed for crews to complete roadway work at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and 8th Street, SE. 

Signed detours will be posted during the closure:

DETOUR

  • Southbound 8th Street, SE, traffic will be detoured onto “Eye” Street, SE, then to 7th Street, SE, to access 8th Street, SE, via Virginia Avenue, SE.   

In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work will be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be sent.
