MEDIA ADVISORY: Mayor Bowser to Kick Off Third "AlleyPalooza" Campaign

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

(Washington, DC) – Tomorrow at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and District Department of Transportation (DDOT) Director Leif Dormsjo will kick off AlleyPalooza 3. This is the third installment of AlleyPalooza, which aims to repair 64 alleys throughout the District – eight alleys in each of the District’s eight wards.

Last year, DDOT repaired or renovated 128 alleys, a vital yet often overlooked portion of the city’s infrastructure.

The launch of AlleyPalooza 3 is part of Mayor Bowser’s District-wide spring cleaning campaign, which kicked off Monday. Each day this week the Mayor will highlight resources available to help DC residents remove waste from their home and neighborhood, keeping the city clean and healthy to live in.

Residents who have called 311 to request the repair of their alleys for AlleyPalooza 3 can track the improvement on their alleys in real time by visiting AlleyPalooza 3 on DDOT’s website.
