Mayor Muriel Bowser to Be Sworn In as the First Woman Re-Elected as the Mayor of the District of Columbia

Ceremony to Include Inauguration of Attorney General Karl Racine, Council Chairman Phil Mendelson, and Councilmembers

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Wednesday, January 2, 2019, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be sworn in as the seventh elected Mayor of the District of Columbia and the first woman to ever be re-elected to the office. The inauguration ceremony will also include the swearing in of Attorney General Karl Racine, Council Chairman Phil Mendelson, and several Councilmembers. Later in the day, Mayor Bowser will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners.
