(WASHINGTON, DC) – The DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) is excited to host two Lifeguard Open Houses in an effort to fill summer lifeguard positions. DPR is looking to hire energetic individuals that are able to swim and are interested in serving the community. Potential candidates will learn about summer employment as a DPR Lifeguard and have the opportunity to register for a lifeguard class. Those that register at this event will have their certification fee waived.

Time: 6 pm - 8 pm
Ferebee-Hope Aquatic Center
3999 8th Street, SE – Ward 8
Prerequisite skills for the class include:
- 100 yard swim
- Tread water without hands for 1 min
- Retrieve a 10 pound brick from the bottom of the pool
