Mayor Fenty Brings Together DPR and MPD to Improve Parks Safety

The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) met today to discuss bringing community policing activities to Parks and Recreation Facilities.  Improving public safety is one of Mayor Fenty’s top priorities and ensuring coordination between DPR and MPD on parks facilities was one of his goals for the first 100 days of his administration.  A follow-up meeting between the two agencies has been scheduled for February.
