TrackDC. The District launched a new accountability website that allows citizens to track government performance. The site, available at track.dc.gov, also features over 400 data sets on specific aspects of each agency’s services and performances, including service requests, crime incidence and response data, permits, construction projects, purchase orders, awarded contracts, and much more. Fenty Administration Clears Snow. In the first week of February, the District was hit by a sequence of winter snowstorms. The District deployed snow crews to clear roads and city walkways in an effort to open schools and agencies on time. Read more >>

Mayor Fenty Stands Up With Community Groups for Youth Violence Prevention. Mayor Fenty joined the Peace-o-holics in recognizing community groups for their work to keep our youth safe and productive. District agencies, like MPD and DYRS, welcome community support in preventing violence and crime among youth.

Mayor Fenty Breaks Ground on Renovations at Joseph Cole Recreation Center. The Fenty administration joined the Ward 5 community to break ground on renovation efforts scheduled for Joseph H. Cole Recreation Center. The new community center will be integrated into neighboring Wheatley Education Campus.Read more >>

Contribute to the Haiti Relief Effort. Due to the recent natural disaster the people of Haiti need immediate relief support. The largest earthquake to hit Haiti in over 200 years has left the country’s people without food, shelter, clean water, and other survival necessities. Residents can send monetary support to various nonprofit agencies that are responding to the crisis. Read more >>
Mayor Fenty and Gov. O’Malley Meet on Crime Prevention Mayor Fenty joined Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley to discuss capital statistics and crime prevention. Throughout 2009, DC and MD have worked together to increase safety in the capital region. The Capital Area Regional Task Force, a joint force from MD, DC and VA, made 3,000 arrests.
Fenty Administration Tackles Snow In the last weekend of January, the District was hit with nearly eight inches of snow. Mayor Fenty and District employees worked on full deployment throughout the weekend to clear roads and shovel sidewalks in order to keep the city open for business and to have schools open on Monday.
