Engine 25 Homecoming. Mayor Fenty, Fire Chief Dennis L. Rubin and community members gathered on October 10 to welcome Engine 25 back to its original firehouse at 3203 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., SE. Originally constructed in 1903, the renovated firehouse has new windows, electronics, kitchen and sleeping quarters, making the facility more livable for the firefighters and more functional for the community.

Centenarians in the District Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and the District Office of Aging hosted the 22nd annual Centenarian Salute on October 8 to recognize District persons who have reached the age of 100 years and older.
